Fall Festivities and FOOD!

My new fav PSL... Can you believe this year McDonalds jumped on the PSL bandwagon?!? It's 1/2 the price, and has a wonderful cinnamon pumpkin flavor... not to mention the drive-thru line is so much shorter in the morning.  I've splurged and had a whopping 3 this year, due to being pregnant and all.

We celebrated Mike's 34th Birthday by having pizza, wings and watching Falcons football




Couldn't miss the Norcross Arts Festival,in my GA hometown of Norcross 
 I had my 1st Fried Oreo... AMAZING


For sister's Birthday we headed to the mountains for the Apple Festival in Ellijay GA


 We got our Apple picking on at Hillcrest Orchards


My 1st Pickle on a Stick! 


I joined my favorite neighbor for the National Peanut Festival in her hometown of Dothan AL


My 1st Elephant Ear! 


It's been a very festive fall... and I couldn't think of a better way to spend my favorite time of year than with my favorite people.

Lessons From the Road

1) My husband is an expert at eating sunflower seeds. Almost squirrel like he stored a hand full of seeds in his cheek, cracked, chewed and spit the shells into an empty Krystal box for hours at a time. After knowing this man for eight years I never knew he had this talent. He attempted to explain the seed eating process to me, but I'm just not that  coordinated. Along with lobster, shrimp and other nuts I just don't see the point of all of the effort it takes to get to a piece of meat or a nut so small. His lovely "spit box" 2) Hotel hair dryers are not normal. No matter where you are. Even at the nicest hotels they still manage to frizz and fry. My Forever Child

I received my beautiful custom charm necklace in the mail today from My Forever Child .  My necklace was made with Madison's actual footprints which were laser etched from the scan below. I am so thrilled with the way it turned out. This brought a smile to my day! Madison's Footprints I smile every time I look at the second toe on the right foot... it is exactly like Mikes! This beautiful poem was also included with the charm...

"So, how's the baby?"

It amazes me how different peoples reactions are when I tell them I lost my baby. All in all I've only had to answer this question about six times. I know that it doesn't sound like an awful lot but each one still manages to throw me into a funk. Yesterday, three people, today one. I play these conversations over and over in my head and wonder how the other person took the news. It all starts with a sweet, innocent gesture, a simple: "So, how's the baby?" I reply, "Unfortunately, we lost her". If you can imagine the look of someone seeing a ghost, that's about the look I receive. I've heard: "I'm so sorry", "God Bless You", "that's not the answer that I was expecting" "Oh, I totally forgot!" (guessing this person knew and asked without thinking?!?) Some people blush and look like they want to run away, some gave me a hug, some say they will keep me in their prayers. And before you know ...
