Christmas with the Mills

It has become a holiday tradition to have our God-daughters and their mom and dad over for Christmas Dinner. We haven't been as involved in their lives as we would have liked over this past year, but we would never miss a Christmas without seeing these girls and spoiling them rotten! Mike and I love watching them grow as they turn into beautiful ladies.

26 Week Ultrasound

It continues to blow my mind how quick my pregnancy is going by.  Today was my 26 week ultrasound, Mike and I could not believe how big baby is growing, he is 2.1 pounds.  We got to see him with the hiccups and I could actually see him kick as I felt it on the inside, a very neat feeling! We could watch him all day long as he moved about on the monitor.  We are so thrilled that so far everything is looking good and moving right along!

Baby Young's Nursery

The nesting stage is settling in and Little Mr. Young's Crib bedding has been ordered! After searching far and wide for the perfect set with no luck I decided to go with a custom order from  modifiedtot . I fell in love with the fabrics above and will be incorporating the prints below from  The Educated Owl  for a preppy modern golf nursery (FYI, Jacob was just an example name) More to come...

Happy Happy Happy!

Heather and I found this little 'gem' at Parsons during our Black Friday shopping.  The amount of Duck Dynasty merch available is seriously out of control but this is the icing on the cake! Don't get me wrong, I love the show and the family, and I applaud them and their marketing team.  I would defiantly have my son sporting this bib (except for the $30.00 price tag was a little bit of a turn off)

24 Week Bump-Date

Big day on the calendar this year! 24 Weeks Pregnant, Thanksgiving Buffet at Chateau Elan, Mom's 60th Birthday and Hanukkah! Can this be a more eventful day? Well, in our case yes.... We found Dixie chewing on a very old and very expired piece of Nicorette gum. Where did she get it you might ask? why, in a old purse in the bottom of our closet of course!  We immediately called the ER Vet who forwarded us to animal poison control.  We were instructed to induce vomiting by giving Hydrogen Peroxide. It worked immediatly however no gum was seen in the vomit.  We were then told to take her to the ER vet for blood work to check for a toxic sweetener "xylatol" thankfully puppy's blood came back normal and we were sent home.  It was a big scare for us...Never a dull moment! I've also started to feel Mr. Young's movements more frequently this week, I can breathe a little easier when I know he's moving.

Honoring our Angel

November 18th marked the one year Angel-versary for our daughter, Madison.  To honor our angel we invited family and friends to our home for dinner and to release lanterns.  I was overwhelmed with emotion as we watched our lantern drift up into the heavens, it was a beautiful tribute.  Guests received candles to take home to light through the night, it was so heart warming to know that the candles were lit in our family and friends homes to remember Madison and to keep her spirit alive.

Puppy Party!

Out Little pup turned 1 years old and we couldn't resist but to spoil her!  Happy 1st Birthday Dixie

20 Week Update

I cannot begin to explain how fast the time has FLOWN during my second pregnancy.  Between working, cooking, cleaning, laundry, caring for the hubby and a puppy and daily shots there is little time for fun.... Even tough it's hard not to have a good time in the Young house! I am swooning over the tiny kicks that I am starting to feel on a daily basis.  I've been anxious to feel them and now that they are starting it brings a whole new aspect to things.

Fall Festivities and FOOD!

My new fav PSL... Can you believe this year McDonalds jumped on the PSL bandwagon?!? It's 1/2 the price, and has a wonderful cinnamon pumpkin flavor... not to mention the drive-thru line is so much shorter in the morning.  I've splurged and had a whopping 3 this year, due to being pregnant and all. We celebrated Mike's 34th Birthday by having pizza, wings and watching Falcons football Couldn't miss the Norcross Arts Festival,in my GA hometown of Norcross   I had my 1st Fried Oreo... AMAZING For sister's Birthday we headed to the mountains for the Apple Festival in Ellijay GA  We got our Apple picking on at Hillcrest Orchards My 1st Pickle on a Stick!  I joined my favorite neighbor for the National Peanut Festival in her hometown of Dothan AL My 1st Elephant Ear!  It's been a very festive fall... and I couldn't think of a better way to spend my favorite time of year than with my favor

Baby Young's Gender Reveal Party

The Food consisted of my many cravings:  Pizza, Honey BBQ Chips, Bananas and Peanut Butter, Veggie, Pretzels and Hummus and of course, Sweets  Pink Lemonade and Blue Raspberry Kool-Aide Team PINK   Team BLUE For the reveal we decided to do a silly string shower.  Everyone received a unmarked can of silly string and on the count of 5 proceeded to reveal the "pink or blue" contents.   It was so much fun to see the expressions on everyone's faces when the blue silly string was revealed!   ~IT's A BOY~

12 Weeks

As hard to believe as it may be... September 5, 2013 marked the end of the 1st trimester in my pregnancy.  Time is really flying by so quickly, I'm trying to enjoy each and every day of this journey! Baby Young's 3rd Ultrasound 12 weeks, 6 days

A Miracle in Progress...

Mike and I are overwhelmed with joy to announce that we are expecting baby No. 2... due March 20, 2014.  It's been a long road since losing Madison in November but we are in a good place,  and excited to start this new journey together as a family.   After many Dr's appointments, specialist appointments, blood work and genetic testing I am happy to say that we are healthy and taking every extra precaution to ensure a successful pregnancy.  I have been diagnosed with Factor V heterozygous blood clotting disorder.  This mutation can increase my chance of developing abnormal blood clots, usually in your veins.  Most people with factor V never develop abnormal clots but women may have an increased tendency to develop blood clots during pregnancy due to the increased amount of blood flowing through the body.   In addition to my prenatal vitamins, I take a "baby"  aspirin  (81 mg), folic acid supplement, progesterone, and a daily injection of Lovenox in the abdom
